Crystallographic details in [4]. Nigeran is partially crystalline in vitro. Due to the crystalline state, nigeran can accomodate or lose water molecules in a reversible state in the crystalline domains [5]. When degraded by enzymes, nigeran break into "jigsaw" fragments, in which the fragments keep the original morphology [5]. |
